I was watching one of my favorite fashion movies today and decided to share with you my favorite looks.

Diane Von Furstenberg Spring 2013-MUST HAVE

Cant Wait for these! Spring 2013 Collection: Diane Von Furstenberg. Love the color and the accessory on the shoe. Such a fan of gold links! These are a must have for Spring!

Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2013

Only a few hours ago did I see my first glimpse of the Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall collection for 2013; my jaw dropped to the floor in awe. I personally think this is Sarah Burton's greatest collection to date. It's a work of art, like something you'd pluck out of a medieval painting.

Dior Spring/Summer 2013 Ad Campaign

The Dior Spring/Summer 2013 ad campaign marks Raf Simon’s first ad campaign as creative director of Dior and also Dior’s first ever print ad campaign for a main ready-to-wear collection since Spring/Summer 2011 –apart from ad campaigns for its Lady Dior and Miss Dior bags. Choosing to focus more on shooting campaigns for its beauty, eyewear, fragrance, and bag collections in recent seasons, the arrival of Raf Simons in April 2012 as artistic director is proving to be a dawn of a new age for the house of Dior.

Prabal Gurung x Target

Inspired by a young woman’s journey through love, Prabal Gurung has created an 80-piece collection forTarget that is right in line with his brand. I’m most excited for the bright floral prints in romantic silhouettes as well as the delicate sandals and heels. And how apropos that the collaboration launches right before Valentine’s Day. Love will truly be in the air!

Gladiator shoes S/S13-MUST HAVE

Spring 2013 must-have footwear trends
Style.com

Sandals usually reign in this season, but that wasn’t the case for Spring 2013. While they weren’t completely absent, designers seemed more focused on pumps and spring cutout versions of boots, which also lead to the resurgence of gladiator sandal boots – easily the most talked about footwear trend of the season. Extreme style aside, designers includingBurberry Prorsum, Balmain and Gucci were still in consensus about classic single soles. Platform heights were once again only raised for wedges, a category that continues strong. Also carrying on, yellow, last spring’s color du jour, has progressed into shoes as a must-have shade along with silver.
The revival of the gladiator shows it is, without a doubt, fit for a warrior. The new runway versions utilized intricate looped straps, panels, hardware and buckles. Versace, Alexander Wang and Altuzzara crafted styles that were just about knee-height while Rick Owens chose mid-calf. Gladiators discovered modern territory when paired with Proenza Schouler’s boxy oversized vests or tailored looks with a lingerie edge as Versace demonstrated.

It’s Official: Alexander Wang Named Creative Director at Balenciaga

It’s official: After a few days of unconfirmed reports, Balenciaga has just sent out a press release naming Alexander Wang the new creative director of Balenciaga, replacing Nicolas Ghesquière.
“I am deeply honored to embark on this new role for a brand and house that I have such great admiration and respect for,” Wang said in the release. He will be responsible for designing the women’s and men’s ready-to-wear and accessories collections, “as well as…Balenciaga’s image.” Nothing will change at Wang’s eponymous, independently-owned label.
The bigwigs at Balenciaga’s parent company PPR also offered statements:
“The Balenciaga fashion house and its staff are proud to welcome Alexander Wang, whose proven talent, modernity and individual and cosmopolitan vision of design will naturally embrace and enrich the unique heritage of this fashion house which will soon be one hundred years old,” said Balenciaga President and CEO Isabelle Guichot.
“Balenciaga is an extraordinary fashion house with inexhaustible potential and it is endowed with a priceless heritage. Alexander Wang will use his creativity and his own research to reinterpret and immortalize the distinctive, modern and extremely innovative style imposed by Cristóbal Balenciaga,” PPR Chairman and CEO François-Henri Pinault added.
So it’s really true. The decision would seem to indicate that Balenciaga is headed in a more commercial direction–a strong suit of Wang’s. The designer is to begin work immediately on Balenciaga’s fall-winter 2013 women’s collection, though, according to WWD, the format of his first show “has yet to be decided.”
“I don’t want to put him under unnecessary pressure, so we will have to figure how we want to present. We will figure out together the pace of next year,” Guichot told the trade. “It’s an important transition for the brand.”

Valentina Di Pinto // Pairing Power Prints

I am in love with her style!

So inspired by the pairing of prints that Valentina perfected during fashion week. I also love that she maintained the overall theme of the look by wearing the same motorcycle jacket, handbag and wedge sandals. I personally get so excited when I find an outfit that I can repeat with similar basics in my closet. I'll go for weeks exploring how many versions I can come up with. Oh, exploring style is so much fun!

Look 1. Equiptment shirt and Isabella Tonchi trousers. Look 2. Neil Barrett shirt and trousers. Motorcycle Jacket by Ance, handbag by Jimmy Choo, and shoes by Celine.

Maryam Keyhani Necklace

From painter to Jewelry designer, Maryam Keyhani creates designs that are forms of wearable art.

Maryam Keyhani, painter turned jewelry designer, like Pygmalion decided to bring her art to life, recreating the jewelry she painted in tridimensional form. Without any formal jewelry training, but with a world of lived-in dreams, she drew inspiration from Florence, Berlin, Paris and Toronto where she was born, she started creating sculptural necklaces in original materials and elegant shapes.

Designs inspired by Gods and Mythology, searching incessantly for refinement and timeless beauty, define her collections.

Chritopher Kane denies Balenciaga

Isabelle Guichot, CEO of Balenciaga, had stated that the name of the successor
of Nicolas Ghesquière would be announced ”soon as we’re ready.” And everything
seemed to be  decided: it was said that Christopher Kane was the new creative director
of French fashion house despite the news was not  confirmed by PPR,
which owns Balenciaga, or the Scottish designer.

But now comes the denial with a statement from a spokesman Christopher Kane: “the
rumors regarding the appointment of Christopher Kane creative director of Balenciaga are
unfounded.”  Balenciaga, however, are aware that the new creative director will be appointed for
two or three weeks, ”do not release comments on the items” which, of course, does not exclude the
fact that Christopher Kane is still in the running for the job.

Why Nicolas Ghesquiere Left Balenciaga and What He’s Doing Next (According to Cathy Horyn)

News of Nicolas Ghesquiere’s departure from Balenciaga seemed to surprise everyone from Style.com, whose feature about him in their new print magazine offers no real clues, to Cathy Horyn, who just offered up some insight as to why Ghesquière may have decided to leave.
While Ghesquière declined comment, Horyn spoke to “a number of individuals, who requested anonymity because of their dealings with PPR,” who confirmed speculation that Ghesquière has been frustrated with Balenciaga and PPR.

isabel marant to open jan’13 on melrose place…

…it’s true! The writing is on the wall – and I don’t mean your Facebook wall. Literally overnight, the blank wall concealing the undercover construction at the soon to be Isabel Marant Melrose Place boutique, now has been covered in what I would like to call Marant graffiti. AND, of course, I want YOU to be the first to see…

Alouette Kicks

I was walking around town yesterday, to come across the Jimmy Choo Spring 2013 shoot on the Upper East Side. The model was wearing bright and colorful printed snakeskin shoes and bag, there was an extremely well dressed team, none of which really spoke English. I was just hanging out in my Converse, black silk tuxedo pants and Japanese style modern coat, watching the photographer and the model sync in their work. I did look like an Upper East Sider running errands; effortless chic. Not necessarily a blogger or stylist per se. More along the lines of a behind the scenes designer in all black; the side of me that enjoys creative work, rather than being worked on. On my mission to the Theory store, the other side of me was then complimented by a girl, probably an employee of Jimmy Choo, who adored my coat. We then exchanged brief comments on general fashion topics. I looked down at her shoes and to my surprise a more wild approach on her part. Sneakers similar to mine, but a lot more exciting. Obviously. Lo and behold, the Alouette sneakers:
I really love these with denim and a big chunky sweater. When styled right they can transition into any season.

Kristen Stewart Wears Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2013

Whatever your opinion on Kristen Stewart, you have to admit she's been upping her game on the red carpet recently. Last night the 22-year-old actress was in Tokyo for the Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2 premiere, and she chose a look from the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2013 collection. I think this is a great look for Kristen, as it fits perfectly with her casual style but also has a strong fashion twist. If only she'd added a pop of colour with heels of some playful accessories...

Do you like Kristen Stewart's latest red carpet look?
I'm glad Kristen has got off to a strong start with her Breaking Dawn promotional wardrobe. I can't wait to see if she has any big gown moments at the major premieres. Which labels would you like to see her in?
