OLYMPIA LE-TAN HANDBAGS AND MINAUDIERES

Olympia Le-Tan is the daughter of French illustrator Pierre Le-Tan, she was born in London and raised in Paris.

The designer's creative background encompasses working in Chanel's design studio with Karl Lagerfeld at age 19, to the assistant designer at French fashion houses Balmain and Gilles Dufour.
Since September 2009, Ms. Le-Tan has been working on her own collection of handmade purses and clutches. Each handbag or Minaudiere (a small clutch) is inspired by artwork from first edition classic books.

Her first collection, "You can’t judge a book by its cover" was numbered and limited to 16 pieces, as that is Olympia's lucky number. In following collections, Olympia has taken new inspirations from milk packaging, and cookbooks.

Louboutin’s Antipsychotic Pill-Bag

She moved to another hospital lately, but when I found this wonderful bag, I couldn’t help but think of her… The “Pilule” bag from the Louboutin Capsule Collection is everything but cheap, but damn, it’s awesome! What a great statement it would be to have a bag like this inhere…

If you happen to have a lot of money and feel like you can use a pill, better spend it on this lovely bag than on Seroquel… Check it out at: http://us.christianlouboutin.com/capsule-20ans-20years/capsule-20ans/pilule-20ans-resine.html

Chanel Fall 2012 runway bags

Take a closer look at the Chanel Fall 2012 runway bags 004fullscreen 300x206
Season after season, I’m never more curious about what a brand’s runway bags will look like than I am about Chanel. Sometimes Karl Lagerfeld goes wearable and sometimes he goes out-of-control, but usually, the catwalk collections feature bags throughout the spectrum. Chanel Fall 2012 was that sort of runway show – from totally covetable velvet Boy Chanel bags to eccentric geode clutches, there was a little something for everyone.

Alexander Wang Burlap Small Emile Tote

Alexander Wang Burlap Small Emile Tote – $650
A relatively simple style by Alexander Wang standards, the Small Emile Tote is completely void of studs or heavy hardware. I love the khaki burlap and simple black leather trim. Its only source of adornment are some structured corner plates. This bag would be perfect for someone looking to make a statement without all the added flare!

Chanel Metiers d’Art features some of the brand’s most gorgeous bags in recent memory

Chanel Metiers dArt features some of the brands most gorgeous bags in recent memory Chanel 71
I’m so excited that I don’t even know where to begin, so let’s just say that there’s a real treat waiting for you guys after the jump. We’ve received images from Chanel of a few of the bags from Chanel Metiers d’Art Pre-Fall 2012, and they are gorgeous. Most of the intricately adorned bags play on the Boy Chanel theme, and the results are a bit tougher than the Chanel that some of you might be used to. In my book, that’s a vote in their favor; I’ve long wanted Chanel’s bags to find a direction like this one, and now that they have, the results are among my favorite Chanel bags in years.

CHANEL "2.55" x The Story Behind The Legendary Bag

In the 1920s, Coco Chanel became tired of having to carry her handbags in her arms and decided to design a handbag that freed up her hands. Inspired by the straps found on soldiers’ bags she added thin straps and introduced the resulting design to the market in 1929.
After her successful comeback to the fashion industry in 1954, Chanel decided to update her handbag, for the modern women. The resulting design was called 2.55 after the date of creation, February 1955.

BAG I DIE FOR

I am very much into the neon yellow bags lately...
And this one from Proenza Schouler is perfect, it is like love at first sight. One of my style icons,
president/creative director of J. Crew, Jenna Lyons (she sure deserves a dedicated post of her own ) carried it a couple of times during NYFW. Isn't it the perfect leather, perfect size and the perfect hardware to brighten up any outfit. J'adore...

Book Clutches

I love them all. I would carry around a Kindle and some dog snacks in the Chanel Bible if I had one.

Birkin, Anyone?

Call it a replica or simply just a fake, either way the Italian company Leghilà comes with B-Bag, a fresh reinterpretation of the Hermès handbag classic. The neoprene bag is washable and available (I mean, seriously available) in 68 eye-popping color variations and two sizes to satisfy all. How very amusing for gym-going or public pools!
