Dr.Martens and Liberty London

Dr Martens has surrendered its classic 1460 boot, as well as four other shapes and a capsule of leather goods, to a Liberty of London floral rewrite.
This coming together of Brit classics looks utterly covetable with two prints – Strawberry Thief and the aptly titled Martens Flower – softening up the traditionally hard edged DM silhouette.
Strawberry Thief was designed by William Morris in 1883 and has become one of the best known and most loved Liberty prints. Updating the collab is the specially tweaked Martens Flower – actually a recoloring of the 1930s Carlino print.
The duo of ditsy florals are rolled out across the eight-holed 1460 boot and its 1461 shoe counterpart as well as white soled seven hole styles and are used as linings on desert boots and oxfords. The mix of unisex, men’s and women’s styles is supplemented by a range of four satchels in two sizes and various colorings of the two chosen prints.
The collaborators brought in set designer Andy Hillman and photographer Leandro Farina to create images of the pieces at wild in the British wilderness and wasteland. The collab goes on sale from May 1 and the Regent street store will host an installation when the collection goes live.
