Hey Dolls!
Lately I’ve noticed a trend slowly taking over the streets of Sydney, loosely based on the American WWII icon ‘Rosie the Riveter’ of wearing a scarf tied neatly in a bow around your head.
I remember seeing Amy Winehouse pull off this look when she first hit the scene, more coherent and still considered a fashion icon. I love how versatile this look can be depending on the color of the scarf and the way in which it’s tied.
Whether the scarf wraps up all your hair just leaving a fringe, or accompanies your top knot with a bright bow, it’s a simple way to uplift any outfit not to mention your mood. Either put your hair in a loose bun at the back of your head, and pull the scarf around it, tying it in the front above your forehead, or pull your hair into a top knot, and fold the scarf into a straight line about an inch wide, and wrap that around your head under the knot and tied in a bow at the front. Playing around with your scarf, you’ll discover hundreds of ways to fix it, depending on what you like best!
Hermes has reignited the look with their new campaign ‘I love my scarf’ aimed at hipsters the world over. Since then it’s taken on many different styles all of which have a sense of bohemian wonder, and who could resist a little of that.
