Style Tip: Harem pants are here to stay!

HEY DOLLS!
YESTERDAY I'VE GOT A MESSAGE FROM MY FRIEND REGARDING HAREM PANTS.Let me begin by saying that I’m not insane–harem pants seen crazy at first, but after much consideration, I realized that they’re a nice break from the confining cut of every other pair of pants and most skirts I own.

Between the high, gathered waist, slouchy cut, and cropped leg, there's a lot going on with these super-hot harem-style pants—and at first glance, they definitely seem tricky.

But that's the beauty of them: They're unique enough that you don't need anything else to look chic.

Tips and Tricks for Pulling off Harem Pants

  • Avoid drop-crotches like the plague. Why anyone would want to be seen in public wearing a giant diaper is beyond me. It should be loose, but no where near your knee region.

  • Think of them as slouchy pants. These styles look better than styles that are too bunchy or drapey.

  • Accentuate your waist. Wear harem pants with a fitted top, a cropped jacket, and/or a belt. Be sure your top is tucked in.

  • Wear them with heels. Pumps or stilettos, something with a delicate heel. They’ll elongate your legs.

    • Try them with jeweled flats or sandals. But only if you have great legs.
    • Find a pair cropped a couple inches above your ankles. Harem pants that cut off too close to the knee will make you look like Foghorn Leghorn.
    • Balance proportions. Don’t wear something bulky anywhere else on your body.
    • Consider draping. If you want a drapey pair, make sure it does neatly and doesn’t look bunchy.
    • Let them be the center of attention. Other crazy pieces will make you look like a hot mess.
